Every year we review thousands of spirits for publication on Distiller.com and in our iOS and Android apps. Each review is done by our panel of industry experts, the Tasting Table.
If you represent a brand and would like your product considered, here's everything you need to know — please read this whole page before submitting or reaching out.
Please fill out our product review request form. Do not ship samples to our office unsolicited — if we're interested in reviewing your product, we'll reach out to coordinate shipment of samples.
Include all pertinent information in the form, and call out anything special about your product. Requesting a review does not guarantee a review, and submissions missing required information will not be reviewed.
We aim to review spirits that are widely available and interesting to our readers, focusing on products that are highly sought after or available in most major markets in the United States. If your product has limited distribution or small production quantities, we may not review it — though a compelling story can change our minds, so tell us what makes your product special.
Our editorial team determines what we review and when reviews are published.
Is there a fee to submit my product? No. There is no fee to submit a product for review — and no way to pay for a more favorable review.
If I don't submit my product, might you review it anyway? We might. If it's something our readers would find interesting, we may purchase it ourselves to review it.
How long does the process take? It can take several months from receiving samples to a published review. Products are prioritized by reader interest and assigned to reviewers by category expertise, so timelines vary.
Can I contact you for a status update or publish date? No — we're unable to provide publish dates or status updates, so please don't reach out to ask. We also don't alert brands when their products have been reviewed.
Where will my review appear? Reviews go live at 3am Pacific on their publish date, on Distiller.com and in our mobile apps. New reviews are featured on the homepage for the first few days, then cycle off as newer reviews arrive (we sometimes re-feature reviews later). Reviews start appearing in search engine results shortly after publication.
I disagree with my score or tasting notes. Can I change them? No — scores and tasting notes are final. However, if you believe the product description contains factual errors, email us at [email protected] and we'll evaluate and correct where appropriate.
My product changed since you reviewed it. Can I request a re-review? Possibly. If the liquid in the bottle has changed even though the name and packaging haven't, we may consider a re-review (not guaranteed). Explain the differences when filling out the review request form.
I don't like the user tasting notes on my product page. Distiller is open to the public, and users are free to express their own opinions. If you believe your product is being intentionally targeted to drag down its average rating, flag the suspicious content and our moderation team will review it. Content that violates our Community Guidelines can also be flagged.
