Every spirit reviewed on Distiller is assigned to a member of the Tasting Table — spirits industry professionals from all over the world with highly refined palates and deep knowledge of the categories they cover.
Tasting Table members are spirits buyers at respected retailers, bartenders, spirits writers, spirits educators, and spirits competition judges. Their names appear right next to every review they write — you can meet them all here.
We interview and vet each Tasting Table member extensively, both to establish the refinement of their palate and the depth of their spirits knowledge.
Each member is assigned to one or more spirit categories based on their expertise. An expert in gin who knows less about rum and sugarcane spirits will review only gins for Distiller.
Two rules protect the integrity of every review:
Tasting Table members are prohibited from working for any brand in the category they review, preventing conflicts of interest.
Members are explicitly prohibited from accepting payment or incentives from brands to influence scores.
